Honest Review: Topshop Jamie Jeans

Topshop jeans. Everyone seems to have them and a lot of people rave about them, but are they really worth it? After buying a pair of the Topshop Jamie jeans last month, I decided to write an honest review about them.

Jeans are something I have always had low confidence in. Being a rather curvy gal, I’ve always felt most out of my comfort zone in them. Nonetheless, they’re so useful to have in your wardrobe, for everyday style and practicality.

I’m going to start sixth form in Spetember, and wanted a pair of blue denim jeans that I could feel confident in, and that would last. After being disappointed with my purchase of black Leigh jeans from Topshop back in January- I felt the fabric was thin, sagged and unflattering, I was hesitant to spend more.

However, so many people seem to love their jeans, from bloggers to my close friends.

So last month, I went into Topshop and tried on a whole range of styles, sizes and lengths. Although, I’d like to point out if you’re not a size 8 or 10, you may struggle as Topshop are crappy in stocking a variety of lengths in bigger or smaller sizes.

OUTFIT
Boots- New Look

In the end, I found a pair that I liked. I’d picked up the Topshop Jamie jeans, with ripped knees (I also believe they had’ ankle grazer’ on their label- which I’ve thrown away now- but I am short and they’re still pretty long on me).

After a month of wearing these, my thoughts are that they’re pretty brilliant. Especially at first, as denim stretches after a few wears, these jeans were extremely flattering. As they are high wasited, it means I can wear them with shorter tops without flashing my tummy and I have come to LOVE the ripped knees look.

Being honest- I still have low confidence days, where I look in the mirror and feel fat in these jeans. So they can’t work miracles, but I think that’s fair enough. Most of the time, they leave me feeling pretty happy and comfortable.

They are pricy, at £40, but to be fair any jeans that are going to last you more than a few months would be. Compared to ones I’ve had from New Look, these seem to keep their shape better (and hug me in more) and the material is much thicker- therefore better at hiding me lumps and bumps- than my Miss Selfridge ones I’ve had in the past.

To conclude then, these jeans are completely worth it. I’ve worn these basically non-stop, on any days where the temperature hasn’t been too hot. They hug me well, make me feel confident and are comfortable to wear. I think they are worth the spend, in fact I now REALLY want some black Jamies to add to my wardrobe before sixth form… I guess we’ll have to see.

Where are you’re favourite jeans from? I’d love to know in the comments. Until next time though, I hope you have a wonderful few days. Thanks for reading my lovelies,

  4. I've tried one air of Topshop jeans before and wasn't keen at all, although I think maybe I need to try out a different shape that will suit me better. I'm hesitant to buy a new pair though because of the price. Great review! x
